So what we’ve done is put together a list of the best scopes for Remington 700 out there. Find out which scopes our experts thought were the best for Remington 700 rifles below.

1. Nikon Prostaff 3-9×40

This is an all-around good scope at a great price. The aperture is enough, the range of magnification is plenty, and it is robust. Perfect for an old BDL in the trunk, or that showy 700 tack driver in the fancy case. Good combination. It won’t drift, it’s solid, this is a whole lot of scope for the money.

Three shots at the beginning of hunting season to check the zero, and with bullets spec-ed to my rifle chamber, I can pound quarters all day long at 100 yards with this scope. I’ve never had a problem with mine. In fact, I can’t remember ever adjusting it after the initial sight-in. Loctite all of your screws, and you should never have a problem.

You will need a dime to adjust the windage and elevation. The clicks are solid, and won’t move on you, though it can be a little tough to turn. The BDC reticle is helpful in the field, ensuring a pretty accurate drop rate for .308 or 30-06 rounds. 270 might run a little more flat, but once you get to know the system and try it at different ranges, you’ll know right where to hold-over for that perfect shot.

The Nikon Prostaff is actually very affordable these days as well and it pairs up great with any Remington 700.

2. Leupold VX-1 3-9×40 Waterproof Scope for Remington 700

A Leupold scope for under $200? Jump for joy. Get the rugged dependability of Leupold at an affordable price. This Nitrogen purged scope is sure to please everyone. The standard 3-9x magnification will rest perfectly on your Remington 700. The windage and elevation screws are finger adjustable, so they could potentially drift a bit over time, but they seem to hold well enough.

You get it all with this scope. A bright, clear picture, low cost, duplex reticle, and the secure feeling of owning a Leupold, even if it isn’t their top-of-the-line scope.

The adjustment clicks don’t feel as secure as the Nikon, but I wouldn’t let that sway you. Overall, it’s a great scope for the money.

3. Nikon Prostaff 7 SF M Np Rifle Scope

Looking for a bit more magnification? This Nikon will let you zoom up to 20x, which is great for aging eyes. Long eye relief, and all the quality you expect from a high-end scope.

The 50mm aperture gives you a really bright picture, even at high magnification, though if you are hunting at dusk, you might want to throttle back the magnification for maximum brightness. At 7x, you can even make out targets in the dark, where hunting after dark is legal. That big 50mm lens isn’t just for looks, the amount of light collected puts this scope in light telescope territory. It’s enough to go out under dark skies and study the moon or the Orion Nebula
.
The major drawbacks on this one are the price point and the strong Nikon clicks. Also, the minimum zoom of 5x might be a tad much for some people, so if you like having a low zoom option, this isn’t for you.

There’s no doubt that this is a high-quality optic for your Remington 700 at a good price for the quality you’re getting.

4. Leupold Rifleman Riflescope

Another Leupold scope, and a great one. Choose either the 3-9x model for the 4-12x. This is a solid scope that won’t let you down, perfect for the Remington 700 (or any other deer rifle for that matter). It hits the mark with an easy to understand sight picture, superb multi-coated optics, and a rugged design.

More expensive than the other scopes on this list, but it’s worth it when you want to have it all.

This doesn’t have the finger knobs, they click securely in place and move with the assistance of a dime, meaning they are sturdy and you can be sure that you won’t come out of adjustment.

If you can spring the green, this is a fantastic scope.
