The 5 Best Tactical Gloves

One of the most important aspects of shooting a gun or handling any weapon well is your grip. If you get sweaty hands under pressure, you could put yourself into some trouble when you really need a good grip on your gun or your knife. That’s were a great set of tactical gloves can come in handy.

In this post, we researched and evaluated the best tactical gloves on the market.

Our experts cut the fat and came up with this list of the best tactical gloves below:

1. Seibertron Men’s S.O.L.A.G. Special Ops Full Finger Tactical Gloves

Siebertron makes a good work glove without jacking the prices sky high. The material on the inside is what they call Super Velcro and is supposedly anti-skid under all conditions, but it has been known to slip a bit from time to time, as all gloves occasionally do.

Still, this is a nice alternative to the normal Mechanix gloves. They are tough, rugged, and secure to your wrist with a Velcro strap. As a note to those with large hands, if you normally fit XL size gloves, these are going to be a little tight in the fingers. In general, with this particular glove, it’s a good idea to order a size larger than what you think you will need, as they run a little small.

2. Reebow Gear® Military Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves

The rubberized material stitched to the palm of these gloves is a similar nylon stretch material to what is used on motorcycle or dirt bike gloves. It’s very sticky and will keep a firm hold in precisely the same area that most gloves slip.

The material is lightweight and breathable, meaning that they will dry out quickly if they get wet. Your knuckles and fingers will be well protected under the extra layers around the top of the hand and the cushioned surfaces, while allowing plenty of dexterity in the fingers which are thinner.

Perfect for shooting, paintball, or just about anything else you want to use them for. They aren’t waterproof, so if you will be dipping your hands into an oily mess, it’s going to penetrate the surface and reach your skin. Still, they’re a great pair of tactical gloves for the money.

3. Freetoo Men’s Outdoor Gloves

From Freetoo, these are work gloves designed for everything from working on that Cummins diesel to shooting competitions. The spandex glove is covered in layers of stretch nylon for a comfortable fit, and PC thickened mats provide impact resistance, while the rest of the glove will protect you well from abrasions.

The material construction keeps the inside of the gloves snug against your hand and fingers for superior dexterity, while the outside is tough, rugged and padded. They tend to run a bit small, so consider going up a size when you order. The breathable layers also make these gloves perfect for cycling or climbing.

4. Mechanix Wear Tactical M-Pact Coyote

The gold standard when it comes to tactical gloves. Myself, I have always found the padding a bit light with this brand, but depending on your usage, that typically isn’t a problem. If you aren’t in a situation where your fingers are hovering around crush points and heavy steel, then sometimes less is more, as all the extra padding on other gloves can be a bit cumbersome.

The padding on these for the most part, ignores the trigger finger, and the extra ribs built onto the pointer finger and thumb provide extra dexterity for the moment most of us are interested in, when you are sighted in on a target and it’s time to squeeze gently.

Thermal Plast rubber protects your knuckles while dual-layer fingertips add to the durability in the part of the glove that will wear out first. Velcro strapping keeps them secured to your wrist, and a fabric loop makes them easy to pull on. They come at a pretty good price right now.

5. TitanOPS Full Finger and Half Finger Hard Knuckle Gloves

Titan ops produces a mean looking glove, starting with the hard-molded plastic shell that they put right over the knuckles. There’s no worries here about hitting something with force and needing to ice down your knuckles afterward.

The wrist strap is constructed from sturdy nylon webbing, and you get the soft and stretchy feeling of spandex against your hand, which makes them comfortable and tight-fitting, while being breathable and not cutting off circulation.

The grip is re-enforced with stretchy nylon and microfiber material at the fingertips provides excellent tactile response through the gloves. Not to mention they look bad-ass, so they can double as a cosplay or costume feature, when they aren’t in service as professional work gloves.

Probably the perfect gloves for any tactical use. When I see these gloves, I’m thinking of the future of hand protection, and honestly, the only thing that would make them better is a servo-assisted exoskeleton, but that’s probably still years out.

The one thing they wouldn’t be that great for is cold weather protection. With all the features built in, and the excellent mobility, adding insulation would mess them up, so make sure to have some pull-over mittens for warmth in colder conditions.
