best mil dot scopes for your money

Let’s get right on to our top picks for the best mil dot scopes below.

UTG 3-9X32 1″ BugBuster Mil Dot Scope

This is the best mil dot scope on a budget. The BugBuster is making a name for itself as a budget friendly, quality scope, that is incredibly versatile for a number of different rifles. The emerald coating isn’t the best in the world, but it’s effective at getting more light transmission than ruby-red glass that shows up on other scopes.

It zooms from 3-9x, giving it a standard all-around hunting range that is common on hunting scopes. It comes with a 2 inch sunshade, flip-open lens caps, and QD rings, though I would personally opt for some high quality rings with the extra cash you are saving. It also has a lighted reticle. Probably the best mil dot you can get for under a hundred dollars. I could rave about this humble scope for hours, but we must get on to the others.

Bushnell Legend Ultra HD Mil Dot Reticle Riflescope

Let’s face it, when purchasing a mil-dot, you want it for ranging reasons, and that means you will likely be taking a lot of shots at 300 yards or more. There are going to be times when you want some extra magnification to keep up. If you still prefer to have a lower power option, but want a little extra on the top end, this mil dot reticle scope from Bushnell is a good scope for the price.

Fully multi-coated ED glass, a big 44mm aperture, solid construction. The picture is clear, bright, and this is one scope that you will love to have on any hunting rifle, at a price that doesn’t break the bank.

Vortex Optics Viper 6.5-20×50 PA Mil Dot Reticle

Vortex Optics offers this 50mm optic mil dot in the highest quality, single piece construction, fully sealed with o-rings. They even purge it with Argon gas. There’s no messing around here, if you are willing to pay for it.

The scope will zoom all the way to 20x without dimming the image in the daytime, and at night, you’ll have enough light collection for a bright picture, even at 8x. This is a serious scope for the serious hunter, enthusiast, or target shooter, with a price to match. Still, if you want the highest quality, the sticker shouldn’t shock you that much.

Mueller Tactical 8-32×44 Side Focus Mil Dot Reticle

If you truly want range above all else, this is the scope for you. Long range shooters that can steady their gun for precise aim will have all the magnification they can handle.

For some, this scope is simply going to be too much magnification. At the lowest setting, 8x, your mil-dot is going to be floating around the bullseye at 100 yards, so make sure you want all of that. Field of view is extremely limited, unless you want to mount an additional low power spotter on top.

If you want magnification, this scope will give you a clear picture, if a little dim, for a long way. The 44mm objective is hardly optimal at 32x, but not so bad that you shouldn’t be able to pick out targets during the day. Great for popping rams across an 800 yard valley.

It’s a quality mil dot scope at a great price.

Leupold 115390 Mark AR MOD 1

We all know that Leupold makes a fantastic scope. This is just your run of the mill, 3-9×40, but with mil dots. Of course run of the mill is anything but with Leupold.

Their multi-coated glass makes the most of that 40mm objective lens. The tube is purged with a 2nd generation Ar/Kr Waterproofing system, which means no fog, ever.

3-9x magnification is great for most applications, and the mil dot system will facilitate ranging. This is a great choice if you want a quality mil dot scope. Check out the best price for it here.
