The Best Pocket Holster for Ruger LCP

The Ruger LCP is one of the best carry guns around. It’s small size and accuracy make it a perfect carry pistol, even for pocket carry.

So in this post, we take a look at some of our favorite pocket holsters for Ruger LCP and give you the details you need to make an informed purchase decision.

There are lots of good pocket holsters for Ruger LCP out there but we think our top picks below are the best. Let’s get started with our list.

DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster for Ruger LCP

This is interesting, as far as pocket holsters go. Most are designed in such a way that they look like a pocket themselves, but this one has a key distinguishing feature. The bottom of it is open. Why they would do this? No idea. But the design doesn’t detract from the fact that it’s the perfect place to hide your LCP in your pocket.

The slick material on the inside makes for easy draws, while the rougher outside fabric keeps the holster from slipping around in your pocket. The last thing you want is the reach for your gun, but the next worst thing is having it sideways when you need it. This simple design should keep it upright and ready to draw. Lint might prove to be a problem, but if your pockets are mostly lint free, it might be the holster for you.

If you have a laser attached to your weapon, a bigger pocket holster to hide it in is a must. I like these basic designs because there is no better way to break up the outline of the weapon than to have it in a sleeve. If your pants are laying on top of a smooth pocket material, there is nothing to print.

The nylon webbing stitched to the outside keeps the holster from coming out with your weapon, and the size makes it easy to grab when you need to empty your pockets at the end of the night. Simple designs are for when you need something lightweight and problem free. Lint isn’t a problem with this one.

When you want to show off your patriotism without showing off anything it all, the printed “don’t tread on me” makes a nice touch, but it doesn’t help the functionality. It’s big enough to secure a smaller laser like the kinds that attach to LCPs and P3ATs, so don’t let the stitching worry you too much, just beware that the fit might be a bit tight, something you don’t want in a pocket holster. You might need to break it in a bit of your laser mechanism is bulky.

This is a really nice design. The stitched wing ensures that it will hold your weapon upright in larger pockets. Being 6’3”, that’s a problem I have to deal with when I use pocket holsters. This one works well for that purpose. The belt clip might become an annoyance, though.

This is another good choice for your LCP pocket holster and the price is nice too.

“Gripper” Ruger LCP, Taurus TCP Sticky Pocket Holster

Now this is my kind of pocket holster. Perfect for an LCP, or another LCP sized weapon. Smooth on the inside, sticky on the outside, without picking up lint annoyingly. You can simply brush it off whenever the dust starts to build.

No printing, no worries. The material is pretty stiff, which also keeps your weapon from canting in your pocket while walking around or hopping in or out of your vehicle. It’s a generic design, hardly fit for purpose, but still works really well. It’s definitely a good one for the money.

Hunter Company Leather Pocket Holster for Ruger LCP

This holster isn’t going to tip, it isn’t going to bend, it isn’t going to do anything except hold your LCP just well enough to keep it from coming free in the pocket.

It’s also made of durable leather, and built to last a lifetime. Leather is definitely the preferred material for most holsters, but in this case, I’m not so sure. It doesn’t allow room for any kind of laser, and it keeps running out of pockets when drawing. The outside leather is slick, while the velvety interior holds the weapon, just like a normal holster, but without something to hold it in your pocket, it comes right out when you draw the weapon.

Now, this is with my enormous pockets. People with smaller pockets will likely not have the same issue, as your pocket should hold the back-strap in place. If you want leather, check this one out.
